How to choose high THC seeds
Don't chase the single highest number. The gap between a strain that tests 24% and one that tests 27% is far smaller than the gap between a well-grown and a poorly grown plant of either. Filter instead for strains whose structure suits your region — many of the most potent modern strains are dense, resinous indica-dominant hybrids that rot in a humid Auckland March, so northern growers should look at the high-THC sativa hybrids and open-structured Haze crosses in this range, while growers in sunny, drier Gisborne, Nelson and Central Otago can take the dense ones. Then read the terpene profile: a 25% strain heavy in myrcene and a 25% strain heavy in limonene are very different experiences. Finally, check flowering weeks. Potency peaks at full maturity, and a strain that can't finish before your autumn rain will never hit its number.
Growing high THC seeds in New Zealand
Three things drive potency once you've chosen the genetics: light intensity, harvest timing and post-harvest handling. New Zealand's UV is among the strongest in the world for its latitude, and full-sun positions with eight or more hours of direct light produce measurably more resinous flower. Harvest timing is where most growers lose potency: THC peaks when the majority of trichomes are cloudy with the first amber appearing. Every week past that trades THC for a heavier, sleepier effect — and in a Kiwi autumn, every week past that also risks rot.

Feed generously in flower — high-THC hybrids are heavy feeders — but flush with plain water for the last 10 to 14 days. Dry slowly in a room with a dehumidifier; a fast, warm dry destroys more potency and flavour than any mistake in the garden. Cure in jars for at least four weeks.

What THC percentage counts as high?
Above about 20% is high; strains above 25% are at the top end of what's achievable. Growing conditions, harvest timing and curing shape the final number as much as genetics do.
Do high-THC strains need more light or nutrients?
They need full sun or strong indoor light to reach their potential, and most feed heavily in flower. Genetics set the ceiling; your light, feeding and harvest timing decide how close you get.
Are high-THC strains harder to grow?
Not necessarily. Several of the strongest strains here are also among the sturdiest, with good wind tolerance and mould resistance. Check the difficulty rating on each listing.
Will my outdoor plant reach the THC percentage on the listing?
The listed range is what the strain achieves under good conditions. Full sun, correct harvest timing and a careful dry and cure get you there; shade, early harvest forced by rain, or a fast dry land you below it.
Does New Zealand's UV increase THC?

Which is stronger, indica or sativa?
