Alien OG is a feminised photoperiod hybrid created from Alien Kush and Tahoe OG genetics. Its balanced 50% sativa and 50% indica profile combines vigorous growth with dense, resinous flowers. Catalogue figures place THC at 20–28% and CBD at 0–1%, although cannabinoid levels can vary with phenotype, environment and cultivation.

The aromatic profile layers pine, lemon and earthy notes over sweet citrus, pungent skunk and a lingering herbal edge. Myrcene, limonene, caryophyllene and pinene are prominent within its listed terpene mix. People may experience the effects as euphoric, uplifting and happy, followed by an energetic, cerebral or talkative mood. Some also report a stronger appetite or a heavier finish. Growing in New Zealand

Alien OG suits intermediate growers who can maintain a stable environment and support branches as flowers gain weight. It performs best in temperate or hot, dry conditions, making site selection important across New Zealand’s varied regional climates. Good airflow, sensible spacing and shelter from prolonged rain can reduce the risk of mould during humid periods.

For outdoor cultivation, spring planting falls between September and November. Select a sunny, private position with free-draining soil and protection from strong winds. In cooler districts, a greenhouse or sheltered structure can help maintain more consistent conditions. Always check the rules that apply in your location before germinating or growing seeds.

Indoor

Indoors, plants may reach up to 160 cm and usually flower for around 8–10 weeks. Early training can help manage height and create an even canopy. Techniques such as topping, low-stress training and selective pruning may improve light distribution around developing flower sites.

Keep humidity controlled, especially late in flowering, and provide steady air movement without directing a harsh fan at the canopy. Alien OG’s pungent citrus, pine and skunk aroma can become pronounced, so growers may wish to account for odour management. Under favourable conditions, listed indoor yields reach up to 550 g/m², but actual output varies.

Outdoor

Outdoor plants may grow up to 200 cm with enough root space, sunlight and a long season. Use sturdy supports before flowering advances, as mature branches can become heavy. Regularly inspect dense growth after rain, remove damaged material and keep the area around each plant open to airflow.

Temperate northern locations may offer the easiest fit, while cooler or wetter regions call for extra shelter and attentive moisture management. Container growing provides flexibility when plants need to be moved away from severe weather.

Harvest

In New Zealand, outdoor harvest generally falls between March and May. Judge readiness from overall flower development and trichome appearance rather than the calendar alone. Indoor crops are commonly ready after 8–10 weeks of flowering. Handle mature flowers carefully to preserve their resin, colour and distinctive pine-citrus character.
