Growing in New Zealand

Original Glue is rated as an intermediate grow. It can suit temperate or hot, dry conditions, although New Zealand's regional variation makes site selection important. Outdoor planting generally aligns with spring, from September to November, once local frost risk has eased and daylight hours are increasing. Choose a sunny, sheltered position with airflow around the canopy.

Its dense flowers can hold moisture, so regular inspection is worthwhile in humid districts. Sensible spacing, selective pruning and protection from prolonged rain can reduce mould risk. Always consider local conditions and applicable rules before planting.

Indoor

Indoors, plants may reach up to 160 cm. Training during vegetative growth can help manage height and spread light across productive flowering sites. A flowering period of approximately seven to nine weeks makes this a relatively quick photoperiod option, though individual plants may finish at different times.

In cooler or wetter parts of New Zealand, consider a position with good morning sun and rapid drainage. In hot, dry districts, steady irrigation and a moisture-conserving surface layer can help maintain consistency without leaving the root zone waterlogged.

Harvest

For spring-planted outdoor crops, the usual New Zealand harvest window falls between March and May. Timing depends on latitude, phenotype, planting date and seasonal weather. Watch flower maturity rather than relying solely on the calendar, and inspect closely after autumn rain.
