Growing in New Zealand

This intermediate-level cultivar suits growers who can manage the stretch and airflow needs of a strongly sativa-dominant plant. Its listed climate range includes hot, humid, hot, dry and temperate conditions, making site selection important across New Zealand's varied regions. Good ventilation, sensible spacing and shelter from prolonged rain can help reduce mould risk.

For outdoor cultivation, spring planting falls between September and November. Begin once local frost risk has eased and daylight is increasing. Northern and coastal locations may offer a longer warm season, while cooler southern areas can benefit from a sheltered, sunny position or a greenhouse. Always account for local conditions and applicable requirements before planting.

Indoor

Indoors, Lamb's Bread can reach up to 150 cm. Early canopy training may help keep its vertical growth manageable and spread light across productive branches. Allow enough headroom for flowering stretch, and avoid overcrowding the canopy. Consistent airflow around leaves and flowers is particularly useful where humidity rises.

Avoid excessive late growth that could leave soft foliage crowded around developing flowers.

Harvest

New Zealand's typical outdoor harvest window is March–May, although latitude, planting date, seasonal weather and phenotype can shift timing. Watch flower development rather than relying only on the calendar. Mature plants may show fuller flowers, darkening pistils and a stronger earthy, citrus-herbal aroma.

Plan harvest work for a dry spell where possible. Handle branches carefully, remove visibly compromised material, and dry flowers gradually in a dark space with steady airflow and controlled humidity. Indoor plants can finish at any time of year when their environment and light cycle are managed appropriately.
