Haze #1 is a 90% sativa, 10% indica cultivar built from Mexican Haze, Thai, Colombian and Jamaican landrace-derived genetics. Its long-flowering heritage produces vigorous, upright plants with generous spacing between branches and considerable stretch. These feminised seeds suit experienced growers who enjoy actively shaping and managing a demanding sativa.

THC content is listed at 18–22%, while CBD is listed at 0.1–0.4%. Individual experiences vary, but users may describe the effects as creative, euphoric, happy and uplifting. The aroma and flavour profile blends earthy and floral notes with lemon brightness and a distinctive haze character. Myrcene, limonene and beta-caryophyllene are the principal listed terpenes.

Growing in New Zealand

Haze #1 is rated for expert growers because it combines strong vertical growth with a flowering period of approximately 12–14 weeks. In New Zealand, outdoor planting is generally planned for spring, from September to November, once local temperatures are suitable. A hot, dry or temperate setting is preferred, with abundant direct sun and shelter from severe wind.

This cultivar needs careful canopy planning and enough time to finish. New Zealand conditions differ greatly between the upper North Island, cooler southern districts and exposed coastal sites, so growers should use local weather patterns when choosing a position. Good airflow and protection from prolonged autumn rain can reduce the risk of mould around dense flowers.

Indoor

Indoors, plants may reach up to 150 cm. Early training, branch support and a timely change in the light cycle can help keep the canopy within the available space. Use a tall room or tent, maintain steady air movement and leave clearance above the canopy for lights.

Outdoor

Outdoors, Haze #1 may grow up to 200 cm and can develop a broad root system. Choose a sunny, discreet site with free-draining soil and room for lateral branching. Supports may be useful as flowers gain weight. Monitor autumn humidity, remove damaged plant material and avoid water lingering within the canopy.

The listed outdoor yield is up to 800 g per plant in favourable conditions. This is an indicative maximum, not a promise, and seasonal variation can be substantial.

Harvest

For New Zealand outdoor gardens, harvest normally falls between March and May. Haze #1’s extended bloom may place it towards the later part of that window, depending on planting date, latitude and weather. Check flower maturity plant by plant rather than relying only on the calendar. Indoor harvest timing follows the 12–14-week flowering range after the light-cycle change.
