Cherry AK is a feminised, sativa-leaning AK-family cultivar presented by Kiwi Seed Bank. It is commonly described as a cherry-forward phenotype or selection, although its exact lineage is uncertain. The reported balance is approximately 70% sativa and 30% indica, pairing lively growth characteristics with a comparatively short flowering window.

THC potential is listed at 16–25%, while CBD is reported at up to 0.5%. Individual experiences can vary with setting, tolerance and the finished flower. Some people describe an initially euphoric, happy or creative impression that may gradually become relaxed and calming. Heavier or later experiences may feel sleepy to some. Aromas and flavours can include sweet cherry, ripe berries and mixed fruit over earthy and diesel undertones. Myrcene, caryophyllene and limonene are among the associated terpenes.

Growing in the named country

In New Zealand, Cherry AK can suit hot, dry areas, temperate districts and cooler locations with a short outdoor season. Its 7–8 week flowering period may be useful where autumn weather changes quickly. This is an intermediate-level option: regular canopy work, airflow management and close observation are worthwhile, particularly as flowers gain weight.

Spring planting outdoors generally falls between September and November. Local conditions differ substantially from Northland to the lower South Island, so timing should reflect frost dates, daylight, rainfall and site exposure. Select a sunny, sheltered position with free-draining growing media. Leave enough space between plants to improve air movement and reduce the risk of mould during humid or wet spells.

Indoor

Indoors, Cherry AK may reach up to 180 cm unless its height is managed. Early training and an even canopy can help make practical use of light and space. The sativa-leaning structure may stretch after the light cycle changes, so allow vertical clearance and avoid waiting too long before flowering.
